Ken Ivan Embradura on Very Inspiring Pinoys (VIP) Series

You’d see him posting replies and questions at Kerygma Family Forum.

Today you’d see him joining conversations at The Global Filipino Investors Facebook group.

A guys who loves tennis and backpacking.

A Roger Federer fan!

He is one of the people my fiance personally looks up to – a kind of brotherhood that he knows would last.
He finds financial and spiritual guidance of no less than Brother Bo Sanchez – and he shares his financial journey story.
Good person in and out as what my fiance tells me. Could he be one of the most coveted single guys these days? You bet.
Here’s Ken’s story.

1. How did you start investing?

I started investing after reading Bro Bo’s My Maid Invests in the Stock Market. I was aware of the stock market about two years back when Kfam had its own forum about it but I was quite too anxious to take the plunge to be honest. I didn’t have a mentor and then I didn’t know how to open an account or which stocks to buy. I thought starting to invest would take at least several years of learning about it.

2. Who/what inspires you to invest?

Bo Sanchez’s maid and my dream. If she can do it, so can I. Bo Sanchez has proved that anyone can invest in the stock market and he dispels the myth that the stock market is only for the rich.

3. What are your biggest and greatest learnings so far?

That you never stop learning in the stock market (I think this applies to everything in life really).
Surround yourself with positive people, mentors, people who have the same dream and mindset as you. Ask lots of questions from them.
Think of the bigger picture. Remind yourself of why you started to invest in the first place.

4. What would you suggest to an ordinary Filipino who has never started saving up or investing?

Take the leap. You have to start somewhere right? It’s no good waiting until all your ducks are lined up before you start shooting them. Fear usually prevents them from taking the initial step. I know because I have been there too. I just learned that Bro Bo’s maid now has P500k in the stock market. That is some serious inspiration right there.

5. How do you see yourself in this journey 10 to 20 years from now?

Wiser and more experienced. Successful!

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.
-Antoine de Saint-Exupery (The Little Prince)

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”Paulo Coelho (author of The Alchemist)
