Dance With Abandon

Dance With Abandon
January 18, 2014

Meet Kitty – the cat turned piggy which is a gift from friends, and Bumblebee (nope, not Bimby but will consider) the bee turned stock trading buddy. Inspired by Kuripot Pinay (see related link here), I’m one of those savers who will try to dare this 52 week money challenge, as Kitty battles off with Bumblebee for my attention.

In BusinessInsider’s 19 Hard Things You Need to do to be Successful, here are the ways for us to keep going and going:

1. You have to make the call you’re afraid to make.
2. You have to get up earlier than you want to get up.
3. You have to give more than you get in return right away.
4. You have to care more about others than they care about you.
5. You have to fight when you are already injured, bloody, and sore.
6. You have to feel unsure and insecure when playing it safe seems smarter.
7. You have to lead when no one else is following you yet.
8. You have to invest in yourself even though no one else is.
9. You have to look like a fool while you’re looking for answers you don’t have.
10. You have to grind out the details when it’s easier to shrug them off.
11. You have to deliver results when making excuses is an option.
12. You have to search for your own explanations even when you’re told to accept the “facts.”
13. You have to make mistakes and look like an idiot.
14. You have to try and fail and try again.
15. You have to run faster even though you’re out of breath.
16. You have to be kind to people who have been cruel to you.
17. You have to meet deadlines that are unreasonable and deliver results that are unparalleled.
18. You have to be accountable for your actions even when things go wrong.
19. You have to keep moving towards where you want to be no matter what’s in front of you.

And let me just add one more “you have to:”

20. You have to, because you choose to.

There are just so many to-do’s, and you ask yourself? Do I really have to?

Do I really have to save up? Do I really need to learn my way to personal financial planning? Do I really have to invest my time and effort?

Instead of dwelling to your what-ifs and regrets and those shoulda coulda woulda stuff, do it.
Instead of bashing and criticizing why don’t you just give it a try.
Instead of lingering on those thought bubbles in your mind, stagnant words, turn potential into action.

Last weekend was a bottleneck – I had to entertain deals, met people, read invites, gone here and there. Wasn’t hungry or sick but I was soo tired I almost cried. Or maybe I did cry. I was asking myself why, why Lord God do I need to do this. To fulfill my purpose? What do I get if I earn the world? Flashback my family, dogs, my future kids and oh being a runaway bride last year doesn’t make sense this time but okay flashback my dreams, my advocacies, travels and sounds.. where I was and where I will be.

When I went home, I locked up my room. Yes, I was tired. So tired. I put on some worship music. And dance with abandon before the Lord. Like a river I was floating. Float in the current in Him that we are truly free and trusting. In humility and surrender.

And now the vision is clear. And now the whys are back. I now know why.

Til I dance with abandon again.

How about you, what will you dance for in this life?
